Casal pointed out that the leading role will be the citizens.

The National Primary Commission (CNP) held two events this Saturday to report on the progress of the process. One was held in Caracas and the second in La Guaira.

In the first of them, President Jesús María Casal defended the primary and the installation of regional boards, since thanks to them they will be a “great team” that will allow these elections that “citizens have the leading role.”

Casal shared with the attendees a summary of the first balance of consultations and highlighted the central principles of the commission’s work: Integrity of the voter’s identity, greater possible participation and guarantee of the vote abroad.

He pointed out that “we have no guarantee of winning the presidential elections if we are divided. It was decided that to guarantee this unitary candidacy the path is the primary, a democratic procedure successfully tested in previous years.

Later in La Guaira, CNP member Guillermo Tell Aveledo was the one who spoke and was very emphatic.

“There are those who do not want the primary to take place, but the primary is a reality and the sample is this act that we are experiencing today,” the political scientist also launched.

He admitted that October 22 “is very close” and for this it will be very important “and if we don’t work now for this to happen, it won’t be possible,” he warned.
