CNRD transition against democracy and social cohesion in Guinea? : the Reasons that push the FFSG to believe it

Faced with the act of the prince, the authorities of the transition who show no desire to unite Guineans in their diversity, nor moral exemplarity in the management of public affairs, at this announced period of refoundation, this, in despite all the efforts made by its member entities, partners and others (such as ECOWAS, the G5 and elders/religious), the Forum of Social Forces of Guinea (FFSG) feels powerless overnight in its desire to contribute to a transition of rights and laws in peace, under the impetus of the CNRD, which seems to be absorbed and held hostage by the lucrative and political appetites to the chagrin of the Republic.

Otherwise, how can we understand, after more than a month of efforts by the country’s clerics, the inertia of the transitional authorities to repair their “learning errors” called ”prerequisites” by the Forces Vives of Guinea, while the latter despite the doubts and fears, in respect to these religious and in a concern not to let any opportunity for real dialogue escape the search for consensus between Guineans, have renounced three (3) times in a row their right to demonstrate although enshrined in the transition charter, the laws of the Republic and the conventions/treaties.

It should be remembered that in December 2021 (see Presidency of the Republic, Primature, MATD archive, etc.) civil society had submitted a citizen contribution which marked out the transition sites in a fair and equitable manner in two (2) years, with a detailed timetable, the content of which was broadly approved by the so-called dynamic agreement of October 2022 between the CNRD and ECOWAS.

Similarly, on December 02, 2022 after five (5) other contributions for the search for consensus, the Forum of Social Forces of Guinea (FFSG) transmitted to the PM and its facilitators, as well as to the partners, an objective analysis of the issue of inclusive and constructive dialogue, to the effect of a real consensus on the conduct of the Transition. Through this analysis accompanied by middle proposals that dealt with all the points on the agenda of the facilitators, the Forum of Social Forces of Guinea (FFSG), without any discussion with the political and social coalitions victims of the apprenticeship on the one hand and the bad faith on the other hand of the authorities (instrumentalised by the occult advisers) of the transition, had treated in the form of contribution of the preliminary questions, called prerequisites todayas following :

  1. Evaluate the actions of the CRIEF and carry out a review of its operation to make it more objective and effective;
  2. Only resort to imprisonment before fair trial, exceptionally, for proven cases of flagrante delicto or suspicion of flight from the obligation of accountability;
  3. Pending a fair and equitable trial, that all detained socio-political actors be released under judicial supervision, with the free exercise of their civil and political rights, including free movement;
  4. That any person whose guilt is not established through a fair trial, even in the event of ongoing proceedings, be entitled to be an elector and eligible for the elections in sight. Thus, even after his election, in the event of conviction, the sanctions, whether criminal or civil, are applicable to him;
  5. In the event of the need for medical evacuation of persons prosecuted for alleged acts of embezzlement of public property and other similar offences, that guarantees of return after treatment be given by the person prosecuted and his advisers, if necessary by the health structure of ‘welcome.

It is in view of these multiple and multidimensional unsuccessful efforts, that the Forum of Social Forces of Guinea (FFSG), despite the growing poverty of the populations overnight, the signs of corruption and illicit enrichment that appear here and there, legitimate suspicions about Guinea as a possible hub for drugs, with seizures of significant quantities on Guinean soil and in other countries in Guinea’s attention, is concerned and wonders about the reason for the transition authorities’ refusal to create the conditions for a frank and constructive dialogue between Guineans , for a rapid return to constitutional order.
