CNT: the law on the special status of higher education institutions adopted

The national councilors of the transition held a plenary session this Friday, July 21, 2023. On this occasion, they unanimously adopted the bill on the special status of higher education institutions.

At the time of its transmission by the government to the National Transitional Council, the said bill comprised six (6) articles. After study and discussions with the executives of the department and the national advisers, it went from six (6) articles to thirty-seven (37) articles divided into six (6) titles subdivided into six (6) chapters, i.e. an enrichment of 31 articles.

So the project looks like this:

Title I: General provisions (Article 1 to 8);
Title II: Organization and operation (Article 09 to 19);

Title III: Personnel (Articles 20 to 22);

Title IV: Resources, tax system, procurement procedure and control of public scientific establishments (Articles 23 to 27);

Title V: Special provisions (Articles 28 to 35);

Title VI: Transitional and Final Provisions: (Article 36 and 37).

Honorable Sékou Doré, after presenting the report of the Health, Education, Social and Cultural Affairs Commission, invited the national councilors to adopt the project. “In view of the advantages of this bill on the Statute of Institutions of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Documentation and Information Centers, the Health, Education, Social and Cultural Affairs Commission invites you to kindly adopt this bill”.
