Coaches in the Pro-League: the carousel panics, permanent contracts become widespread

It’s a (sad) habit in Belgium: our clubs have never kept their coach for very long. But this off-season, we are breaking all records. No more fixed-term contracts: place for permanent contracts.

The ” limogite “, do you know? Variation: fidgeting. Favorite attraction: the carousel – if necessary, the game of dominoes. Favorite accessory: the push button. , struck by an ugly habit: that of changing coaches (almost) like shirts.

Following the signatures this week of Felice Mazzù à Anderlecht, de Wouter Vrancken in Genk, from Bernd Storck in Eupen, from Mbaye Leye in Zulte Waregem and Danny Buijs (ex-Groningen) in Mechelen, eleven (!) of the 18 D1A clubs have already changed coaches for this off-season. If we note that Cercle Brugge, Kortrijk and Ostend are only continuing with their T1s… which arrived during the past season, only… 4 D1 clubs will resume (if nothing changes by July) the next season with the same technician than a year ago: Ghent, Charleroi, Saint-Trond and Louvain!
