A fleeing vehicle was immobilized in the Antwerp ring road, near the Kennedy tunnel, after a chase with the police, federal police said on Wednesday. The driver, a 31-year-old Frenchman, was arrested in possession of five kilograms of cocaine, two kilograms of heroin and 10,000 euros in cash.
The 30-year-old tried to get rid of the drugs during his escape, which started on the E19 motorway near Brecht, said the Antwerp prosecutor’s office. In this attempt, he operated several dangerous maneuvers, according to the public prosecutor.
The drug “sown” was recovered, he concludes.
