‘CODA’ wins Oscar on the night Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage

Mar. 28—Surely the 94th edition of the Oscars held in Los Angeles will not be remembered because ‘CODA’ won the award for Best Picture, not even because the great Academy show returned, two years after it could be held with normality product of the COVD-19 pandemic.

These Oscars will be remembered for actor Will Smith’s slap in the face of comedian Chris Rock for a joke about his wife Jada Smith’s shaved hair.

Smith, who later won the Oscar for Best Actor for the movie ‘The Williams Way’, went up on stage at the Dolby Theater and slapped Rock in the face and then sat down and yelled at the comedian “keep your wife’s name out of your dirty mouth”.

In ‘The Williams Method’, Smith represents the father of tennis players Serena and Venus Williams

Where he had a superb performance, just like at the awards ceremony, although when he received the Oscar the first thing he did was apologize and defend his action.

“At this point in my life, I am overwhelmed by what God has asked me to do and be. Love, protect and be a river to my people. Love makes you do amazing things,” Smith said.

Jessica Chastain was the winner of the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’; while Jane Campion wins the Oscar in the Best Director category for ‘The Power of the Dog’.

The winner of the night was ‘Dune’ with six awards, as CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) tells the story of a girl of deaf adults and of course Smith. Other top awardees were:

Troy Kotsur was chosen as Best Supporting Actor for his performance in ‘CODA’; Ariana DeBose won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in ‘Love Without Barriers’, the Best Adapted Screenplay was won by ‘CODA’; while the Oscar for Best Documentary Short Film went to The Queen of Basketball.

Special moment with the Oscar won by ‘Encanto’, as the Best Animated Film, which represents Latin America and especially Colombia.

Before Mila Kunis, born in Ukraine, starred in the Los Angeles Academy’s tribute to this country, which culminated the request for a minute of silence on a night that had everything.
