First big international final of Codi-Zouk Friday August 18, 2023 on the savannah of Fort-de-France. 5 couples involved: Togo, Paris, Reunion, Guadeloupe and Martinique. The Jean Philippe Marthély trophy is won by Eury and Jojo from Togo.

The first big international final of the Codi-Zouk Competition on Friday August 18 on the savannah of Fort-de-France, kept all its promises.
The team-Zouk, Jean-Marc Templet, Patrick Andrey and the choreographer Moïse Rippon have finally seen the realization of this Codi-Zouk project.
A highly symbolic show with the participation of the Grand Ballet de Martinique (directed by Suzon Sainte-Rose and Léandre Moreau) which presented several paintings to the public: biguine, mazurka and bèlè. Proof that the organizers have not forgotten the basis of our dances.
The presence of Jean-Philippe Marthély backstage acclaimed by thousands of spectators, pledge of recognition of a singer who gave this rhythm an international dimension with Kassav’.
On the stage, the international jury chaired by the choreographer Moïse Rippon, with personalities from the artistic world Jess Mendès (Réunion), Monique Assouvie, Corinne Jean-Marie Yokessa.

Paris was the first couple to appear on stage. The couple wowed the public, as did Reunion, Martinique, Togo and Guadeloupe. The dancers transmitted the joy of living, emotions, artistic elegance through several themes: le Zouk Love, the New wavethe Classic, l’Rn’Bland zouk “Sausage”land Chiré, Zouk tile.

From their first visit, the couple from Togo seduced the public with their chosen music and their artistic elegance. “We had the impression that they were born in the land of Zouk“, a surprised spectator.

After the passage of Guadeloupe and the great ballet of Martinique, the organization imposes a title of Kassav’ which allows to see the creative capacities of each competitor. The talents have multiplied. The jury had a lot to do. First place went to Eury and Jojo from Togo.
