The striking portrait of a woman, based on the New York Times bestseller by art historian Tilar J. Mazzeo, sheds light on the life of Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, who as a young widow defied the conventions of a patriarchal society and rose to become one of the most successful entrepreneurs.
Haley Bennett (“Girl on the Train”) took on the title role and also acted as producer. Other roles include Sam Riley (“Control”), Tom Sturridge (“Sandman”) and “Peaky Blinders” star Natasha O’Keeffe. Bryce Dessner from The National was responsible for the music.
