The National Water Commission (Conagua) reported this Wednesday that the cold front number 11 will give rise to first winter storm of the season.
Through a announcementpointed out that the cold front will enter and move quickly over the northwest, north and northeast of the Mexican Republic, which will be associated with a cold core vortexa polar wander and with the jet stream.
The winter storm will cause very strong gusts of wind with tolvanerasmarked drop in temperatures, rain and showers, as well as possible snowfall or sleet during the night in mountain ranges of Chihuahua y Coahuila.
In this way, temperatures of less than -5 degrees Celsius are expected in the next 72 hours in the mountainous areas of Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango y Coahuila; from -5 to 0 degrees in mountainous areas of New Lion y zacatecas; and from 0 to five degrees Celsius in mountainous areas of Baja California, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi, aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacan, Mexico state, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala y Puebla.
