Faculdade Sirius offers free, throughout the month of September, an online and asynchronous bootcamp with tips for those who want to take the first steps in an international career and work remotely. The practical and introductory course has a total duration of 5 hours and will be taught by four professors, each one approaching a different bias related to the theme.
The track consists of four recorded classes – which aim to address different areas of the international career in data science, from how to apply for remote jobs and receive your salary, to tools and data-driven thinking – and a live bootcamp with Rafaela Herrera, COO and co-founder of Sirius College and Forbes Under 30 Award recipient.
The teachers
The bootcamp has Brazilian and foreign professors who bring a diverse view to the issue. Vinicius Dacal, founder of the Remote Work Community abroad and software developer working for companies outside Brazil for over 5 years, will bring the theme “How to Earn in Dollars without leaving Brazil”. “How to build a global and remote career with data science” (content in English) will be the theme of the class taught by Farshad Fahimi, AI strategist and architect. Fahimi works in Berlin and gives tips on tools and data-driven thinking.
The other two subjects covered during the trail are: “Dos and don’ts when choosing a remote job”, with Tammy Silva who teaches how to get your first job earning in dollars. Tammy also curates weekly jobs on her LinkedIn profile, free of charge. And “Hacks to take the first steps in your remote career”, with Laura Oliveira, who is a professor at Faculdade Sirius and went from investment sales to recruitment. Today, Laura helps Brazilians prepare for selection processes focused on technology.
The phenomenon of remote work
The consolidation of the home office and changes in labor laws, such as those that allowed hybrid work, were responsible for the exponential increase in the number of Brazilian professionals working abroad, which showed a growth of 491% in the period between 2020 and 2022, according to the portal InfoMoney. “The phenomenon of remote work has redefined the way we look at the balance between professional and personal life”, concludes Arnobio Morelix, CEO of Sirius College.
