The Congolese Prime Minister staying in Paris spoke with Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister Delegate to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Accompanied by the Minister Delegate for the Budget Ludovic Ngatsé and the Congo’s Ambassador to France Rodolphe Adada, Anatole Collinet Makosso upon his arrival in Paris met Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne this Thursday, April 14, 2022. The two personalities together gave an overview of international subjects, in particular the Covid-19 and the war in ukraine their impact on the global economy as well as on the economies of Congo and France. The recent conclusion of a program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was also discussed; France having accompanied the Congo on this issue, from start to finish, as a partner. “The Congo has also initiated a rich and sustained dialogue which is leading to results with the IMF with the support of France, this is positive news that we are accompanying on our side with a certain amount of additional support”, underlined the Minister Delegate. He also announced the arrival of a French mission in the coming days in Brazzaville to be able to work on the terms of this support backed by that of the IMF. Anatole Collinet Makosso and Jean-Baptiste LEMOYNE also discussed the subject of the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank which will be held in Washington in the USA from April 18 to 24, a meeting in which the head of the Congolese government, the Prime Minister, will take part.
