Bogota – In Colombia, there is progress in the peace efforts of the government and the left-wing guerrilla group National Liberation Army (ELN). Representatives of both sides announced on Friday that the first steps towards a bilateral, temporary ceasefire had been taken. This will create better conditions for Colombian participation in the peace process, declared ELN representative Pablo Beltran following a round of negotiations in Mexico City.
