Summary: Abby and Martha Brewster are the loveliest ladies in all of Brooklyn. Tea for the neighbor, cookies for the family doctor and loving care of her nephew Teddy, who thinks he is Theodore Roosevelt, fill her peaceful days. Until one day her second nephew, the theater critic Mortimer, discovers a corpse in the windowsill and panics a little. The sisters remain calm, the dead man is well known to them – and will soon follow his eleven predecessors into the cellar. Because Abby and Martha have a very special concern – lonely older men can find a final, peaceful resting place with them. And if they haven’t worn off yet, a drop of arsenic in the elderberry wine will help – all out of charity! On the same evening, however, Mortimer’s long-lost brother Jonathan shows up, fleeing from the police as a serious criminal – body in the trunk included… And so Mortimer finds himself in a breathtaking whirlwind of sweaty adventures between murderous aunts, behaviorally disturbing brothers, unsuspecting police officers and his bride Elaine and borderline situations that provide the best entertainment.
