Deputy Chairman of Commission II DPR RI, Junimart Girsang, said that the plan to roll out the right to investigate fraud in the 2024 Election continues to be discussed among fellow members of the DPR RI.

“The right to inquiry is a constitutional right of the DPR and is regulated in law. “Well, if it’s called the right to inquiry, we’ll wait,” stressed Junimart, at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Monday (25/3).

“This is currently a conversation that is currently underway in the DPR, regarding whether or not we will see how communication will be between the various factions later, yes, the conditions are that at least 25 people are enough and only two factions are enough. “That’s the rule,” he added.

Junimart reminded the government that the right to inquiry should not become a frightening threat. The reason is, said Junimart, the right to inquiry is the right to investigate allegations of violations and fraud, not to cancel the election.

“The right to inquiry is only for the right to investigate whether it really happened, and if true, what happens next. that’s right. “We are not investigators, we are just investigators,” he said.

As is known, Commission II DPR RI held a working meeting or hearing meeting (RDP) with election organizers, including the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), on Monday (25/3).

“Today’s material, of course, asks for a report from the organizers regarding the process and implementation of the election on February 14 2024,” said Junimart.

Second, said Junimart, Commission II will ask about the problematic election recapitulation information system (Sirekap).

He gave an example of the case of regional organizers who could not synergize between the KPU and Bawaslu. This was when Bawaslu asked for election c1, but the KPU could not provide this data.

“Perhaps the most interesting thing is how the KPU could not provide an answer regarding the entry of Sirekap which turned out to be an error from the region, even though they said that there was a mistake in taking the photo and it was Sirekap’s entry,” stressed Junimart.

“What makes most people anxious is that when Sirekap is decreasing, Sirekap should still be increasing, it should not be lowering, it is increasing but it is decreasing,” he added.

Regarding the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Junimart said that his party would also ask about the government’s attitude when many ASNs were ordered to choose someone to elect a certain legislative candidate or a certain presidential candidate.
