Birmingham: India’s PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen in finals in Commonwealth Games badminton singles. In the men’s semi-finals, Lakshya Sen defeated Singapore’s Jason Teh and Sindhu defeated Singapore’s Yeo Jia Min in the women’s semi-finals.
Lakshya Sen’s victory was 21-10, 18-21, 21-16. Lakshya Sen won the first set easily but Jason fought back in the second set. However, in the third set, Lakshya Sen fought with increasing vigor and won the match.
However, two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu entered the final after winning two consecutive sets. Sindhu qualified for her second consecutive final by winning the match in 49 minutes. Score: 21-19, 21-17. The opponent in the final is Canadian Michelle Lee.
