On the night of Thursday July 14 to Friday July 15, 2022, unidentified armed individuals carried out coordinated and complex attacks in several villages located in the prefectures of Kpendjal and Kpendjal-Ouest in the Savannah Region.
As soon as the alert was given, a detachment of the Togolese Armed Forces quickly converged on the scene of the attack; which made it possible to stop the murderous madness of these individuals and to limit the loss of human life and material damage.
Unfortunately, this attack caused several deaths and a few injuries who were very quickly taken care of by the first elements of the detachment of the Togolese Armed Forces who arrived on the scene. These injured were transferred to specialized hospital structures for appropriate care.
The Togolese Armed Forces, in these circumstances of mourning and intense emotions, offer their sincere condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
In view of the resurgence of these despicable acts against the territorial integrity and the tranquility of our valiant populations, the Togolese Armed Forces invite all Togolese in general and the valiant populations of the Savannah region in particular, not to give in to panic.
The Togolese Armed Forces reiterate their determination to pursue the mission of defending territorial integrity and protecting people and property throughout the national territory.
