Como 1907 secured a historic 9-1 away victory against RC Lens at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis during matchday four of the UEFA Champions League, delivering a stunning offensive masterclass that rewrote the competition’s modern record books.
A First-Half Blitz Sets the Tone in Northern France
The visiting Italian side asserted control early on at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. Anastasios Douvikas opened the scoring in the 7th minute, setting the tone for a relentless onslaught. By halftime, Como already held a commanding 3-0 advantage, as Douvikas secured his second before Nico Paz added a strike in the 40th minute.
Lucas Da Cunha, Marc-Oliver Kempf, Mattia Liberali, Martin Baturina, and Matteo Papaccioli each joined the scoresheet in a second-half scoring frenzy. Lens could only muster a single consolation goal through Ruben Aguilar.

Entering the Champions League Record Books
The 9-1 scoreline elevates Como into an elite tier of European football history. Opta data highlighted by detikSport reveals that Como is just the second team in tournament history to net nine goals in an away match, joining a rare statistical club alongside Feyenoord's historic performance in September 1971.

Soaring to the Top Four in the League Phase
Reporting on the broader standings, CNN Indonesia emphasized that this victory propels Como to 9 points from four matches, placing them fourth overall in the league table.
With four matches remaining in the league phase, the club has a good chance of qualifying for the Round of 16.
