The two references remain very good students in this area – among the best at the moment – but as we mentioned during our test of the WH-1000XM5, the latter is a very slight notch below its predecessor. in terms of sound reproduction quality.
The cause is not really linked to the sound signature of Sony’s latest, certainly a little sharper than that of its predecessor, but to the very slight loss of precision that we note, especially in the treatment of mediums / treble. We therefore lose a little in detail, in sound transparency, especially on the restitution of particularly demanding pieces, rich in sound elements.
Apart from that, the headset retains all the other qualities that have made the WH-1000x lineage famous since the WH-1000XM3.
