In preventive detention, a police officer was discharged for the femicide against a mother of two minors in Futrono, in the Los Ríos region. One of them is a newborn who would be the accused’s son.
The Guarantee Court of Los Lagos sent a 23-year-old man to preventive detention, charged as the author of the femicide of Franshesca Flores Raillaca, 40, which occurred in the bedroom of the victim’s home last Thursday in Futrono.
According to the prosecutor, Claudia Baeza, that day the person involved delivered 18 stab wounds to the cervical area of a woman with whom he had a romantic relationship, who was found with dental fractures.
A possible paternity conflict would be the motive for the crime, which was committed before the accused attended the Futrono Carabineros Tenure, where he worked, that same day.
Even, according to the prosecutor, before arriving at the police unit he had contact with the eldest son of the victim, with the purpose of hiding the fact and his participation, being precisely the adolescent who found his deceased mother and his newborn brother crying. on the bed.
“The accused was married, much younger than her, also starting a career in the Carabineros, therefore, we could think that this fact of paternity outside of marriage could harm him not only in his family life, but also in his work development. ”, indicated the prosecutor.
The National Service for Women and Gender Equity in Los Ríos he is a plaintiff in the case. According to lawyer Cynthia Lara, the crime was even perverse.
“This was not just any subject, as happens in crimes of gender subviolence, in particular the crime of femicide. He perfectly knows the movement of the victim, of her son, and there is also a rather perverse circumstance in committing the crime, in this case, in the presence of the victim’s 10-day-old son, ”said the lawyer.
While the defense indicated that the accused has an alternative theory of the case, the Prosecutor’s Office affirmed that it will be investigated, without giving more details. In any case, for the persecutor, the ex-carabinero planned the crime and acted treacherously.
The term of investigation for the femicide in Futrono remained in 150 days, pending DNA tests and proving the paternity of the man with respect to the newborn, among other skills.
