Complaint by the Tyrolean FPÖ against Werder Bremen now fixed

After the tweet by the German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen regarding an FPÖ event in the Zillertal (“Klare Kante gegen Nazis”) at the beginning of July, the Tyrolean state party and the football club will meet in court: As Tyrol’s FPÖ boss Markus Abwerzger said today, have he instructs a party lawyer to draw up a lawsuit and to bring it to the competent regional court in Innsbruck.

According to Abwerzger, who is a civil lawyer himself, the legal representative of the party is currently examining which specific facts will be sued for. But it probably goes in the direction of an insult to honor.

Most recently, Abwerzger had given the club an ultimatum by July 14 and asked for feedback. In a letter to those responsible, he demanded the immediate deletion of the tweet, a public apology or distancing and financial compensation of 10,000 euros. The compensation was to be made available as a donation for the youth work of SK Zell am Ziller – the place where the FPÖ event took place and Werder held their training camp.

But Werder Bremen did not comply with the request. They did not want to comment on the cause, which was also making waves in Germany.
