Complaint in connection with the participation of Louise Sigouin in the program Si on s’aime: “I choose to withdraw from the Professional Order of Sexologists of Quebec”

I learned of the complaint filed by the syndic of the Ordre professionnel des sexologues du Québec against me, which is obviously shocking considering that this is the first complaint of any kind that has been brought against me in 30 years of career. I obtained on Thursday April 14 the nature of the complaints addressed to me, I am now awaiting the details surrounding these complaints which I will treat as a matter of priority and seriously.

Out of respect for the ongoing disciplinary process to which Duo Productions and I have fully collaborated for almost 2 years and since the proof has not yet been released, I will not comment on its content.

However, I would like to point out that on several occasions since 2016, many years before the broadcast of the first season of the show If we loved each otherI contacted the Order to present the television project in which I intended to participate as an expert in relationship support and sexologist, a profession I have practiced since obtaining a bachelor’s degree in sexology in 1992 at the University of Quebec in Montreal.

I made a point of taking steps with the Order in order to respect my ethical obligations considering that this project was totally new and innovative.

Although the outcome of this complaint cannot be known at this stage and I will continue to deal with this complaint, I have chosen to withdraw from the Ordre professionnel des sexologues du Québec. This action seems to me to be the only possible solution that will allow me to pursue my commitments with complete peace of mind towards the participants of the 4th season of If we loved each other and back Duo Productions, while resolving the situation with the Order.

Depending on the outcome of the complaint, I will make a decision on my continued membership with the College, an organization that I consider important and essential for the protection of the public. My immediate membership of the Order does not appear to me to be necessary for the pursuit of my activities within the framework of If we loved each other or in the support that I offer to my clients.

Indeed, my expertise in sexology is secondary in the context of the program: it is my approach to the 5 dualities which has a considerable positive impact in the concept of the program but also and above all with the Quebec population, in particular in the exploration of self-knowledge.

In the times we live in, my mission to help as many people as possible evolve individually and in relationships is more important than ever and I cannot resign myself to drawing a line under the sharing of these tools that make a real difference. in large scale.

I am extremely grateful for the support of my customers, viewers, readers and former participants and the unwavering support of Duo Productions, TVA and Quebecor Content in this situation.

If participants have experienced the feeling of not having been adequately accompanied and supported during their appearance on the television show, despite the help and measures put in place, know that this concerns me greatly.
