The Purple Bull driver from the Netherlands was just a bit sooner than the McLaren duo Oscar Piastri (+0.073) and Lando Norris (+0.091) in qualifying on Saturday on the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Which means that Verstappen will even begin from the entrance within the seventh race of the season on Sunday (3 p.m./stay ServusTV, Sky).
“We turned every little thing round”
“What a tough begin, however we turned it round. That is implausible,” Verstappen radioed to the pits, audibly relieved, after the 26-year-old had struggled with the setup of his automotive on Friday. “It is a very tough weekend and I am very joyful to be on pole. Disappointment for Alonso and Perez
The Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc (+0.224) and Carlos Sainz (+0.487) needed to accept fourth and fifth place on the grid at their residence race. Sergio Perez within the second Purple Bull and Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso had been disillusioned. Perez missed the highest 10 by 15 thousandths of a second and completed eleventh, whereas Alonso needed to accept nineteenth and second to final place on the grid after going into the gravel and making a number of errors.
Within the total World Championship standings, Verstappen leads Perez by 33 factors. Leclerc is in third place, 38 factors behind.
