The Comptroller General of the Republic did not endorse the contract that Recoleta Municipality contracted with the company Itelecom for the renovation of the lights in the commune.

This company is being investigated for possible corruption to win bids for the replacement of LED lights in different municipalities. In addition, yesterday it was revealed that the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a possible triangulation of money between the manager of Itelecom, Marcelo Lefort; the lawyer Ramón Sepúlveda and the mayor Daniel Jadue.

The communal chief has defended the tender for more than $ 10 billion assigned to Itelecom in its commune, stating that it was the best offer and that the process was also approved by the Comptroller’s Office.

The Comptroller’s Office has not officially referred to this, but sources from La Radio assured that the reviewing body did not endorse the contract.

What did happen was that councilors of Recoleta They asked the Comptroller’s Office to review three specific points of the tender, but in no case does this mean that the contract was approved.

The party’s president, Guillermo Teillier, added that the complaint about Itelecom does not endanger his possible presidential candidacy.

“We are absolutely sure that he will come out clean from that,” he added.
