A shot was fired in an army vehicle
As the Swiss Army announced on Tuesday afternoon, the shooting accident occurred shortly after nine o’clock during an exercise by the Supply Recruit School 45 at the Bremgarten AG weapons range.
At this point, the members of Supply Recruit School 45 were in a training sequence. A shot was fired from an assault rifle in an army vehicle and hit the 22-year-old in the head.
After initial medical treatment, the injured man was flown to the hospital in a rescue helicopter, where he died in the morning.
The recruit school was in its 15th week of association training. As the army also announced on Tuesday, the relatives, like the comrades of the deceased, were cared for by local and army CARE teams.
