Compulsory advertising begins on October 4 on German-speaking TV

The mandatory will be visible from October 4 on the delayed television of German-speaking private channels.

The viewer will see an advertisement in three parts when watching television in replay, said Tuesday a press release from CH Media, which owns several channels across Sarine. Anyone who wants to skip the commercials will have to pay more in the future.

Prices are the responsibility of broadcasters, such as Swisscom, Sunrise, Salt, Quickline and others. Details should filter from a press conference organized this Wednesday by Suissedigital, which brings together regional fiber optic cable network companies.

In detail, almost all channels of RTL Deutschland (RTL, VOX, NITRO, RTLZWEI), Seven. One Entertainment Group (ProSieben, SAT.1, Kabel Eins, ProSieben MAXX, SAT.1 Gold, sixx, Puls 8) and from CH Media (TV24, TV25, S1, 3+, 4+, 5+, 6+, 7+/Nick Schweiz) will launch this device at the beginning of next month.

Others like TeleZüri, TeleBärn, Tele1, Tele M1, TVO, Swiss1, Super RTL and NTV will probably introduce it in the 1st half of 2023.

The ‘common tariff 12’ (TC12) framework entered into force this year, providing for the introduction of an additional tax for delayed television.
