Concerns over census, MQM resigns from its National Assembly members

Muttahida Qaumi Moment Pakistan (MQM) has resigned from its members in the National Assembly protesting the results of the census.

According to the sources, the meeting of the coordination committee of MQM Pakistan was held under the chairmanship of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, in which serious concerns were expressed over the inconclusive results of the census. Considered using all possible options.

The MQM members coordination committee suggested a strong protest to the federal government while it has also been decided to consult the parliamentarians in this regard.

In the meeting, the coordination committee was told that the MQM members are not satisfied with the results and the meetings held with the Prime Minister and the federal ministers regarding the census.

The coordination committee has taken a big decision in the meeting and 7 of its members have resigned from the National Assembly, in the second phase, the resignations of the members of the Provincial Assembly will also be called for.
