concert #18: healthy wills @ flex | 30.05.2022

at flex, friska viljor not only showed us their talent for good mood anthems, but also their good knack for improvisation and surprises!

actually i had absolutely no head for a concert that monday evening – the next day my partner and i were planning to start our vacation trip and i still had to organize a thousand things. but: “friska viljor” is simply not to be missed. “friska viljor” are the epitome of good humor – and actually that’s exactly what i needed so badly. so we dragged ourselves into the flex!

we were a bit shocked when we arrived – there wasn’t really much going on. i didn’t give up hope that more people would come. and at some point a few more people really came and nothing stood in the way of the concert evening. well, or maybe it is. technical problems with the sound initially delayed the start of the concert and ultimately these problems were also responsible for the fact that “healthy wills“ Had to improvise.

the concert didn’t start on the stage as usual, but in the middle of the audience. the two main protagonists joakim and daniel stood in the audience area with their guitars and started to play an unplugged set. From that point on, nobody was angry anymore that the sound technology had problems – because this unplugged gig was so magical, so heartfelt and so beautiful that almost absurd thoughts spread that there should always be problems on stage. after a few numbers, the sign came that the stage was now ready and the two musicians switched to the other band members on the stage podium.

we enjoyed a lot of hits, but there were also a few songs that weren’t that well known. overall, the set was coherent: the few melancholic moments were balanced with twice as many beautiful moments. the dancing legs were swung, the eyes sparkled – friska viljor radiated a lot of love and even more togetherness.

i would even go so far as to say that a few tears of joy shed during the concert. really. friska viljor always manages to evoke lots of nice emotions. how do they do it? that’s a mystery to me too. is it the anthemic songs? are the likeable frontmen? is it a mix? it’s probably a mixture of many.

what friska viljor mastered just as incredibly well that evening: surprises. the unplugged set at the beginning was just the beginning. the band appeared again for their last song in the middle of the audience and i was completely blown away. I absolutely did not expect to be able to welcome joakim and daniel again in our midst. and then they celebrated “shotgun sister” with us and i was just completely moved: “friska viljor” are always a highlight! what a great band!
