The two Ivorian political figures brought this Wednesday, August 02, 2023 their compassion to Mrs. Henriette Konan Bédié and to the family of Henri Konan Bédié, who died on August 1, 2023 following an illness, in Abidjan.
The Head of State, Alassane Ouattara, had his wife by his side. Both expressed their condolences to Mrs. Henriette Konan Bédié, to the children and to the family of the deceased, at the home of the former Ivorian president in Cocody, in the east of Abidjan.
Laurent Gbagbo, President of the African Peoples’ Party – Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI), accompanied by Nady Bamba, went to the home of the former Head of State, Henri Konan Bédié, President of the PDCI, to support the family of the deceased.
The leader of the PPA-CI was accompanied by a strong delegation, including officials from the party’s Strategic and Political Council, vice-presidents and members of the general secretariat of the PPA-CI, including Dano Djédjé and Damana Pickass.
President Alassane Ouattara on Wednesday signed a decree establishing a ten-day national mourning, running from Wednesday August 2 to Friday August 11, 2023. During these 10 days of national mourning, state flags will be at half mast in the country and in the embassies of Côte d’Ivoire abroad.
