The Escalation Race, Exem knows her like the back of her hand. Or rather like the sneakers he always puts on regularly, so as not to lose the rhythm in training or in competition. Last year, under his real surname of Emmanuel Excoffier, this young senior finished first among the over 70s. On Saturday, failing to retain his crown, he is aiming for a place in the top five in his category. More than the performance, he hopes to feel, he says, “like an antelope” in the middle of the peloton.
