If you want to set up Keyboard and touchpad after installation Windows 11/10 using Training camp on a MacBook, so it’s here to guide you. If you plan to use a dedicated keyboard and mouse, you cannot configure them. But, if you want to configure the MacBook’s built-in keyboard and trackpad, we’ll show you how to configure them for Windows 11 or Windows 10.
Use Boot Camp to set up keyboard and trackpad in Windows on Mac
Although Windows 10 can detect your MacBook’s keyboard layout, you may not be able to use the function keys (F1-F12). Also, the brightness of the backlit keyboard may not be understandable at all. Again, you may not be able to install a mouse driver because the MacBook doesn’t come with a mouse.
To fix all these problems, you need to open Boot Camp Control Panel. You don’t have to install it since you have already installed Windows on MacBook using Boot Camp.

To open it, open the system tray and locate the Boot Camp icon, right-click on it and select Boot Camp Control Panel.
After opening the Boot Camp Control Panel, switch the Boot Disk tab to Keyboard ous Touchpad tongue.
Keyboard settings:
By default, the Use all the F1, F2, etc. keys. as standard function keys may not be enabled. If you enable it, you can use all the special features of these function keys. You can change the volume or adjust the brightness of the backlit keyboard. However, you must press the key between F1 and F12 with the key Function key (Fn) of your keyboard.
The second option will allow you to turn on/off the keyboard backlight for a certain period of time. You can choose between 5 seconds and Never, depending on your needs.
Touchpad settings:
In the Trackpad tab, you can activate them:
- Press to click: By default, you press down on the trackpad until it clicks into place. If you enable this option, you can simply press the trackpad to [left] click somewhere.
- Drag
- Slide lock
- Secondary tap: it works like a right click.
- Secondary Click: If you enable this option, you can press the bottom right/left corner of the trackpad to access the context menu.
You can either activate secondary tap or secondary click at any time.
