Colombo: At least 20 people have been injured in clashes between supporters and protesters of Sri Lankan President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Pro-Rajapaksa activists took to the streets in protest against the president’s resignation. As the clashes intensified, police used water cannon and tear gas.
An indefinite curfew was declared in the capital following the clashes. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that violence is leading to more violence. He added that measures are being taken to resolve the financial crisis.
