The London-based improvisational music collective, Ill Considered, released their new album, Precipice, on March 22, 2024, according to promotional materials released by the band. The release follows a January 24th single, ‘Jellyfish,’ and an accompanying improvised session recorded at the Total Refreshment Centre featuring a range of guest musicians.
The album is available on 12” gatefold vinyl, CD, and through digital streaming services, including Spotify and Bandcamp. A music video for the track “Kintsugi,” animated by Vincent de Boer, has also been released. De Boer described the project as a return to “shapeshifting and brushbending” inspired by the song’s rhythm and visual structures.
Ill Considered, comprised of musicians engaging in freely improvised music, performed their new single, “Linus With The Sick Burn,” live at the Total Refreshment Centre. The performance was presented as a preview of material from Precipice. The band also hosted a live session featuring improvisations from Idris Rahman, Pete Wareham, Buster Woodruff-Bryant, Art Themen, James Mollison, Nathaniel Cross, Theon Cross, and James Yglesias.
The band’s music is available for streaming on SoundCloud, and their previous album, Ill Considered 5, was released in 2019. Ill Considered maintains an official website for updates on their activities and releases.
