“We have just been attacked at the Palestinian Mission to the EU, in Belgium and Luxembourg, by Israeli fanatics,” diplomat Alaa Jadallah said on Facebook and X, formerly Twitter. “They said we had no right to exist and that we were terrorists. They wanted to take down the Palestinian flag and replace it with the Israeli flag, as if what is happening now in Palestine was not enough, as if the current massacre, blockade and repression in Palestine were not enough.”
“They come to threaten us here in Belgium,” she explains once more in the video. “Thank you to the Belgian police for acting quickly, but we don’t feel safe as Palestinians. We feel pursued by Israelis everywhere because we defend our right to self-determination, our right to have a state Palestinian.”
“Our agents actually intervened in the Palestinian Mission building this morning,” confirmed Wout Monteyne, spokesperson for the Montgomery police zone. “A man wanted to remove the Palestinian flag and install an Israeli flag. He was administratively arrested.”
