Conner Rousseau Takes a Break: Insights on the President’s Career and Future Plans

Yesterday afternoon, on the occasion of the day of families and the Vooruit congress, Conner Rousseau was re-elected as president of his party with 95.6% of the vote. If the 30-year-old is delighted with his new mandate, he however announced on his Instagram account that he was starting a break in his career: “I am taking a break”.

“The past four years have been a roller coaster. I was thrown into the bath at 26. Lots of fun stuff. Crazy experiences. I worked hard,” he wrote. “The last few weeks and months have been extremely busy. Preparation for the Congress. Federal co-management. Tour in Flanders, speech. Lots of press and interviews. To explain our message and our new projects” he continues.

However, this political break did not sound the death knell for Conner Rousseau’s career. It’s more about taking a step back in order to come back stronger to the heart of the party, as he explains: “To defend others, I myself have to be at my best. That’s why I’m going to slow down a bit in the upcoming period. I will be less active. Less responsive. Fix everything by myself. Let things fall into place. Catch my breath. To then campaign stronger than ever. And fight for you”.
