“Obviously I was angry with him,” reacted Conner Rousseau’s mother on Sunday, speaking of “a mistake” on the part of her son. She accused him, among other things, of using the state of intoxication as “extenuating circumstances”. “I can hope that his statements were not intentional. A drunk driver rushing into someone is not necessarily intentional either. But the result is the same,” compared the Flemish ecologist.
For Christel Geerts, if Conner Rousseau was drunk that famous September evening, it was because of an illness that had been following him for many months. On the VRT set, she stressed that her son had experienced “a very difficult year”, marked among other things by a coming-out somewhat forced by rumors who surrounded him. “For me, that drunken night and the story of his coming out, it’s a whole thing.
