Constitutional judges overturn Macron’s immigration law – and he benefits from it – France

The Conseil Constitutionnel in Paris rejected almost half of the French immigration law on Thursday evening. The nine “sages” declared that 35 of 86 articles did not correspond to the constitution. They overturned most of these articles because they did not follow the law’s dual goal: to restrict immigration and strengthen integration. The Constitutional Court ruled that the principle of legal unity would fall by the wayside.
