The new Constitution of Chad was adopted by 85.90% of the votes with a referendum participation rate of 62.8%, according to final results published Thursday by the Chadian Supreme Court. The latter rejected the appeal of the Federal Bloc, an opposition coalition which had requested the annulment of the results due to several irregularities in the conduct of the vote.

Also in the news, in the DRC, the Congolese are still awaiting the results of the general elections. The Electoral Commission publishes them gradually. But on December 31, the final results should have been revealed. At the same time, the observation missions are releasing their first conclusions.

Finally, in Burkina Faso, following 31 years of closure, the Russian embassy will reopen its doors. It was the Burkinabe Ministry of Foreign Affairs which announced it in a press release. A ceremony even took place this followingnoon in Ouagadougou. This reopening symbolizes the rapprochement between Burkina Faso and Russia that began last year, when the military took power in the Sahel country.
