The construction robot Hadrian X, which specializes in brickwork, has for the first time built a complete residential building in Wellard, Australia, using Porotherm bricks from Wienerberger. At the end of 2018, Wienerberger signed a multi-stage partnership agreement with FBR (Fastbrick Robotics), a company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, to develop an innovative method for laying bricks with robots and to create optimized brick solutions for the construction robot Hadrian X.

“As a trendsetter in the industry, we also use the opportunities of digitization as part of our partnership with FBR and develop innovative technologies for new construction, renovation and infrastructure. Because as a leading international provider of building material and infrastructure solutions, we not only aim to manufacture products of the highest quality, but also to work in the best possible way in terms of resource conservation,” says Heimo Scheuch, CEO of Wienerberger AG. Depending on the level of difficulty, the fully automated Hadrian X can complete a house within one to three days.

The robot also scores with its precision, with which bricks are processed with millimeter precision. Wind and vibrations are also measured and balanced in real time. “With this forward-looking technology, living space can therefore be realized faster, more cost-effectively and more efficiently in the future with a high quality standard. In addition, the individual bricks are cut in a way that conserves resources and thus reduces the waste that is produced,” says a broadcast.
