Consumer Advice Center reveals iCloud scam

2023-05-15 16:08:00

The German consumer advice center is currently warning of a new wave of phishing emails affecting Apple iCloud users. This refers to an expansion of storage space due to full storage.

The e-mail is sent with the subject «Your iCloud storage is full no. -any seven-digit number-». It is worrying that such emails from Apple are sometimes written in a very similar tone.

Apple users should continue to be lured to receive an additional “50 GB free” via a “loyalty program”. Without the expansion of iCloud, user data would allegedly be deleted.

If you click through the individual points, it is only pointed out in the small print that the credit card data must be validated following registration. As usual, the same applies here – don’t click anything and throw the mail unread in the spam folder.
