Consumer recall: a dozen products of the same brand recalled from supermarkets for risk of intoxication

The Saint Lucia brand launched a product recall of ten of its references after discovering a bacterium in the raw materials. On sale throughout France in the main supermarket chains, consumers are called upon to bring back the food concerned for reimbursement in store.

A dozen references affected by this consumer recall of the brand Saint Lucile. The presence of the Basil wax in the raw materials used has alerted the health authorities.

10 products concerned

The product recall concerns 10 references of the Sainte-Lucile brand. Retailers are asking customers to bring back to stores the spice mixes mulled wine, Indian curry, poultry, sea curry, colombo, four spice, red curry, balti curry, chinese mix and ground ginger.

Sold throughout France

The Sainte-Lucie brand is sold throughout France in the main supermarket chains. Thus, from Auchan to Carrefour via Casino, Cora, Franprix, Leclerc, Intermarché and Système U, distributors ask consumers not to ingest these products.

Immediate refund

The distributors are asking to bring the products concerned back to the store, where they can be immediately reimbursed if the reference in question is likely to contain the bacteria bacillus cereus. Basilus Cereus

Basillus Cereus is a group of bacteria that can be pathogenic for humans, specifies the Ministry of Agriculture on its site. Infection, by ingestion via food, causes food poisoning within 2 hours of consumption. The first symptoms are diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal painsometimes violent.

They usually disappear within 12 to 24 hours after ingestion, the infection being generally mild. The authorities, however, warn the elderly, pregnant women, infants and immunocompromised people.
