[Reporter Wang Yihong/Taipei Report]The price of container shipping fell again, and this week has been falling for 10 consecutive weeks. The latest 1st Shanghai Export Container Freight Index SCFI was 4434.07 points, down 106.24 points or 2.3% from the previous week.

In the latest 1st SCFI, all major routes fell. Among them, the freight rate from the Far East to Europe per TEU (20-foot container) reached US$6,593, down US$204 or 3% from the previous week. The freight rate from the Far East to the Mediterranean also fell. It fell $114 from last week to $6,921 per TEU, or 1.6%.

The freight rate per FEU (40-foot container) for the Far East to West America route fell below US$8,000 to US$7,960, a slight drop of US$63 from last week. The freight rate of the US-Western route exceeded the US$8,000 mark for the first time on February 11 this year. The Far East to US East per FEU is 10,504 US dollars, a decrease of 130 US dollars or 1.2% from last week. In addition, the freight rate from the Far East to Singapore was US$1,098 per TEU, down US$37 or 3.2% from the previous week.
