PDating apps in China are ready for the test. The app developers claim that the new feature, which allows partners to track each other’s location, will further improve transparency in love relationships. But there is a lot of criticism against the new feature, including on social media.
Called the Relationship Surveillance Tool, the feature includes real-time location tracking, daily check-ins, and allowing monitoring of phone usage. Critics also point out that constant surveillance will cause a rift in relationships.
This feature is introduced in subscription mode. By paying a certain amount and subscribing to the app, couples can share phone information with each other. It allows users to access smartphone details including battery level, network status and screen unlock history.
