On LN24, in the “Petit Théâtre de Vrebos”, Bruno Dayez made comments which caused a reaction, in particular the father of Julie Lejeune, victim of Marc Dutroux.
Bruno Dayez declared that “experts have concluded that it is potentially dangerous. We are trying to find a solution to this report. I consider that he is much more in danger than he is dangerous”. The damning report from psychoanalysts, who spoke of a high risk of recidivism, forced Marc Dutroux to withdraw his request for release.
”Several years ago, I had the idea of preserving this cache in order to make it accessible to the public. I wanted people to realize what Dutroux was capable of doing. It’s so unimaginable and Machiavellian…, he explains to Sudinfo before reacting to Mr. Dayez’s comments. “When I hear what he says on LN 24, I ask myself questions. Me Dayez should go and do a one-week internship in Marcinelle’s cache. In the same conditions as the little ones. That would put his mind back in place and we will then see if he still has the same appreciation of his client.”
Julie’s dad doesn’t stop there and doesn’t hesitate to add another layer. “Through his comments, Mr. Dayez is himself a danger for our society.” If Sudinfo points out that the lawyer is practicing his profession, Jean-Denis Lejeune responds all the same: “I of course accept that he defends his client and that he uses all the legal tricks. But he must measure his words in relation to our society because there, from a lawyer, we reach the heights”.
