Representative Walid Al-Baarini, commenting on what was reported that the Minister of Interior in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, would authorize the military court to prosecute the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Imad Othman, asked, “Is this how Major General Othman, the son of the school of the late Prime Minister Rafiq, is rewarded?” Hariri, after the long and honorable career in the Internal Security Institution, the countless contributions, and the sacrifices he made for Lebanon?
Mawlawi asked, in a statement on social media, “Did he contact the Prime Minister of the Caretaker Government, Najib Mikati, before making the decision and consult with him, or did he merely communicate with the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Representative Gebran Bassil, and hasten to implement his instructions?” Pointing out, “Unfortunately, it seems that some members of the Sunni sect find it easy to stab members of this sect for special considerations. It is as if this sect lacks tragedies, treachery, and stabbings!”
Al-Hadath TV sources reported that, “The Minister of Interior will authorize the Military Court to prosecute the Director General of the Internal Security Forces on corruption charges.”
