After the conviction of its secretary general, the Union of Press Professionals of Guinea (SPPG), remobilizes its troops.

During the day of this Friday, February 23, 2024, the Dixinn first instance court sentenced Sékou Jamal Pendessa to 6 months in prison, 3 of which were suspended, and the payment of a fine of 500 thousand.

The SPPG, which denounces a serious attack on press freedom in Guinea, is calling a general assembly of all journalists this Saturday at the press house.

“The executive office of the Guinean Press Professionals Union is calling a general meeting of all media workers this Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the press house,” launched the Union.

At the end of this meeting, the SPPG announces that strong decisions will be taken to demand respect for its demands and the release of Sékou Jamal Pendessa.

The Union also calls on the SPPG branches in the interior of the country to hold general meetings at the same time as the national office in Conakry.
