The internal mobile 2315 (Alfa 31) is the new ambulance of the municipal emergency service 107 that presented an “excessive loss of oxygen” due to a failure in the “oxygen flow and suction system” of the unit. It happened when they were transferring Trinidad to the Cordoba Emergency Hospital on Sunday, July 9.
The unexpected inconvenience in the ambulance happened while the doctor Verónica Beautte and the nurse Sebastián Díaz attended the adolescent who suffered very serious injuries from the attack of two bulldogs in the Estación Flores neighborhood that Sunday at noon.

The note was written and signed by the crew on the same day, July 9, and received at the Emergency Service Directorate 107 on the 11th. Trinidad died in the Emergency Hospital on Monday the 10th at dawnas a consequence of injuries caused by dog bites.
Immediate response

“We also decided to stop and review the other three new ambulances that recently joined the fleet. TSS company engineers came and the central system was changed in each of the units”, he assured. Logistics personnel had detected the same loss in two other ambulances.
Giraudo clarified that the patient who was being transferred when the failure occurred “he did not die for this matter” and that “he was never at risk due to lack of oxygen.”
“The units have all the back-up elements for the corresponding care, which were the ones used by the professionals at that time. They are two portable oxygen tubes that support the coverage of any emergency ”, explained the director of 107.
After this unexpected event, professional personnel from the municipal emergency service also submitted a request for a report to management to find out in what technical condition the other mobiles that make up the fleet are.
Sensitive issue in Córdoba
A failure of these characteristics causes the inevitable memory of the tragedy of September 26, 2006, when an ambulance from the Municipal Emergency Service 107 exploded on Amadeo Sabattini avenue.

“The primary and efficient cause of the accident was the high oxygen enrichment of the environment inside the ambulance, due to deficiencies in the oxygen distribution network, which led to a drastic reduction in the activation energy necessary to start a fire process and a change in the speed of flame propagation of the materials that make up the ambulance’s furniture, lining and facilities, plus an energy contribution of electrical, physical or mechanical origin (although with a high probability that it originated from one of the multiple deficiencies detected in the electrical installation of the unit). This is directly and causally related to the negligent, imprudent, reckless and illegal performance (violating the IRAM FAAA AB37217: 1997 standards of the year 1997 that regulates the “non-flammable medical gas distribution network” and the international standard ISO10524-1 of the month of February 2006) of the bodywork of the ambulance as such, made by the company VALLÉ SRL located at Avenida Renault Nº 2221 of the Barrio Santa Isabel, First Section of this city of Córdoba”.
