Study: Vitamin D intake has no positive effects on the course of corona disease.
Scientists have long warned against taking the worming agent ivermectin – according to clear findings, it is not suitable for a treatment against corona disease. Despite all scientific evidence, Herbert Kickl still advocated the use of the agent. This recommendation by the FPÖ boss has already turned out to be dangerous. Scientists analyzed the current state of research on the intake of vitamin D preparations in connection with corona. They looked at how the intake affects the disease progression of over 530,000 patients. Conclusion: Vitamin D preparations do not reduce death or admission to the intensive care unit in the case of corona disease.
Even a low vitamin D status does not pose a risk in the course of the disease. “There is no significant connection between a vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency and susceptibility to Covid 19 infection or the associated death,” it says in the study.
