The Ministry of Health in Qatar announced on Sunday the death of a 3-week-old baby as a result of a “severe infection with COVID-19”.

In a statement, the ministry stated, “The death of a 3-week-old baby as a result of a severe infection with Covid-19.”
She added, “He was not suffering from any other known genetic or medical condition.”
The Qatari Ministry confirmed that “the current wave of the Corona virus pandemic that the country is witnessing has included a larger number of children, which has led to many of them needing medical care.”
Several countries have previously announced the deaths of children as a result of Covid, since the beginning of its spread, but it has remained extremely rare.
And the number of daily injuries in Qatar reached about four thousand, in recent days, which is 20 times higher than the numbers announced in mid-December / December.
The country’s main public hospital group suspended vacations for all its medical and administrative staff working with Covid patients at the end of December. / December due to an increase in injuries.
