Coronavirus: 22 new contaminations (Ministry of Health)

Dakar, June 11 (APS) – The Ministry of Health and Social Action reported on Monday 22 new coronavirus infections recorded in the past 24 hours.

Out of a sample of 579 virological tests, 22 came back positive, i.e. a positivity rate of 3.79%, indicated the bulletin of the Ministry of Health and Social Action devoted to the evolution of the epidemic in Senegal. .

He specified that 02 of these 22 new infections are imported cases detected at the Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) in Diass, the remaining 20 correspond to community cases whose origin of contamination is unknown.

These community cases were almost all detected in the Dakar region, which totals 18, against two recorded in the Thiès region, indicates the epidemiological bulletin of the Ministry of Health.

According to the same source, no death has been recorded in the last 24 hours, while 18 patients have tested negative and declared cured.

She adds that the state of health of the other patients followed was considered stable. No serious cases are supported.

Currently, 79 patients are under treatment.

To date, Senegal has recorded 86,526 cases of Covid-19, including 84,478 cured and 1,968 deaths.

A total of 1,493,812 people have been vaccinated since the February 2021 launch of a national vaccination campaign.
