Correios inaugurated a new unit responsible for international order processing in Valinhosin the interior of the state of São Paulo.
According to the state-owned company, the Valinhos International Center is the first outside a capital and has the capacity to receive 60,000 orders per day. This unit should also be used to distribute cargo arriving in Brazil through the international airports of Viracopos, in Campinas, and São Paulo, in Guarulhos.
The new unit still has to relieve the feared distribution center for international orders that operates in the city of Curitiba, while it can also speed up the delivery of everything that passes through the centers of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Correios points out that the new location is serviced by the Federal Revenue Service and Ibama to speed up the customs clearance process. However, the center must primarily act as an intermediary in the parcel delivery process.
Commenting on the matter, Fabiano Silva dos Santos, president of Correios, highlighted that the Valinhos International Center should reduce the company’s operating costs.
This will greatly speed up the clearance and delivery procedures. We are all working imbued with the best practices so that this merchandise reaches the people more quickly.
The president of Correios also pointed out that the intention of the state-owned company is to modernize the delivery process and decentralize the treatment of international parcels, and this should result in the opening of a new International Center in Rio Grande do Norte.
